2. Visit our center in Wilmington, DE and pick up your enrollment forms. For now, forms are available at the center only.

3. Bring a copy of your child's immunization and medical records.

Which programs accept Purchase of Care?
Infants, Young Toddlers (Waddlers), Toddlers, Preschool 1 and 2, Pre-K, Before & After School care and Summer Camp all accept Purchase of Care.

Will I have a copay?

Every family's situation is a little different. Depending on your income and eligibility, the State may set a copay for your family, and we'll walk you through your amount once the State confirms it. Is child care free with Purchase of Care?

Not for every family. Purchase of Care helps pay for child care, and the State may set a copay based on your income and eligibility.

How do I apply for Purchase of Care?

You apply with the State of Delaware's Division of Social Services (DSS), not with us. Apply online through Delaware ASSIST or in person at any Delaware State Service Center. DSS also takes applications over the phone with a DSS case worker, or by mail, fax or email to your local DSS office. Official details from the State.

What will I need?

DSS will ask you to show your household income for the last 30 days (for example, pay stubs or a signed letter from your employer) and why you need child care (such as your work hours or a school or training schedule). You'll also have an interview with DSS, by phone or in person.

How do I choose Small Wonder Daycare?

The application asks for your child care provider's name, address, phone number and provider ID. Use: Small Wonder Daycare, 100A Greenhill Ave, Wilmington, DE 19805, (302) 654-2269, site ID 1700018100. DSS asks families to send their documents, finish the interview and choose a provider within 30 days of applying.

What happens after I'm approved?

DSS sends you a letter for each child that names your provider, the type of care approved, and your copay, if you have one. Then call us at (302) 654-2269 to pick a start date, and pick up your enrollment forms at the center.

Can I use Purchase of Care part-time?

We offer full-time and part-time schedules. Call us and we'll talk through how Purchase of Care fits the schedule you need.
